Accessorial Tracking and Recovery
We Track, Identify, and Recover Missed Accessorial Charges — So You Don’t Leave Money on the Table.
-
Detention in trucking refers to the time a driver is delayed at a shipper or receiver beyond the agreed-upon free time for loading or unloading. When this delay exceeds the allowed window (typically 1–2 hours), the carrier can charge a detention fee to compensate for the driver’s lost time and reduced productivity.
-
Layover in trucking refers to a situation where a driver is required to wait an extended period—typically overnight or longer—between loads due to scheduling delays outside their control. When this happens, carriers can charge a layover fee to compensate for the driver’s downtime and lost earning opportunity.
-
Truck Order Not Used (TONU) in trucking refers to a situation where a carrier dispatches a truck to pick up a load, but the shipper or broker cancels it after the truck has already been assigned or is en route. In these cases, the carrier can charge a TONU fee to cover the time, fuel, and lost opportunity associated with the canceled load.
-
Lumper in trucking refers to a third-party service used at warehouses or distribution centers to load or unload freight. Instead of the driver handling the labor, a lumper is hired to do the work, and the carrier is typically charged a lumper fee—often reimbursable by the shipper or broker.
-
Late fees, stop charges, out-of-route miles, and donation charges are all examples of accessorials that carriers may be entitled to collect.

Keep More of Your Money
Every day, trucking companies lose money on accessorials that go untracked, unbilled, or unpaid. Detention, layover, TONU, and other charges often slip through the cracks — not because they aren’t earned, but because there’s no time to chase them down.
Think about this: just 30 minutes of detention every other day can add up to thousands of dollars over the course of a year. That’s revenue you’ve already earned — it just needs to be recovered.
That’s where we come in.
We review your loads, identify missed opportunities, and handle the process of getting those accessorials approved. Our goal is simple: help you capture every dollar you deserve without adding more work to your day.

our company
Backed by over 5 years in the trucking industry and a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, I’ve worked for both small carriers and major companies like Marten Transport.
I created Accessorial Recovery Service LLC to take the burden off drivers—so they can focus on the road, not unpaid accessorials. We streamline the process, improve organization, and ensure you’re maximizing revenue from every approved charge.
